Reverse engineering outmoded Telstra switch gear
Reverse engineered a distributed network monitoring system. This software managed and reported on problems associated with communication links to/from exchanges and phone call rates. I then redesigned the application software and updated the software interface from a relay monitoring system to a serial communications interface. This involved producing the functional and detailed specification.
Telstra CAFE project
The CAFE system was a Unix/windows based screen scrapping system accessing three separate Telstra mainframe billing systems. The aim was to incorporate these three billing systems into one and simultaneous move to a Unix/Oracle.
